Grand Knight's Message

Well here we are, about half-way through Lent. What have you done extra? Have you given something up for Lent? I thought about giving up writing a Grand Knight's report since I really was at a loss of what to say! But, I finally decided that wouldn't quite be right. Anyway, we still have three or so weeks left of Lent to knuckle down and really do something special. Don't give up!

I want to apologize for a couple of events that were canceled recently. The annual Fish Fry was canceled because I failed to pull it together. But have no fear, we'll get it together for next year, bigger and better than ever! Also we had to cancel hosting a second/third degree initiation due to a conflict at the hall. We are working with the District Deputy to find a new date, if not in Morrilton, then surely somewhere close at one of the other councils in the district. Watch for information on that soon.

There's plenty going on - bingo every Monday night, State Convention, Easter Egg Hunt, and a new event we hope to host in early May - a fishing day to finish at the hall to eat our catch! Read on for all the details. And come on out for a meeting, Tuesday, April 9, 7:00pm. Come early and eat with us at 6:00pm, rosary at 6:30pm. And have a Happy Easter!

Fraternally yours

Mark Hoelzeman, G.K.

Special Announcement:

K of C FISHING DAY: Plan now to be part of the fun as we plan a day of fishing, food and fun! On Saturday, May 4th the plan will be for Brother Knights and their families to go fishing - anywhere you like, or come meet at the hall and go with a group. At some point we'll gather back at the hall, clean our catch and have a fish fry. We'll have some backup plans in case the fish don't bite, so no matter how good or bad the fishing is, the feast will be on! That evening we'll have fun, cards, and hopefully some live entertainment that anyone can jump in and be a part of - bring your guitar or other instrument and be ready to play. NOTE: IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO BRING A BOAT AND INVITE OTHERS ALONG, or if you have places to fish (ponds? private lakes?) please contact Mark Hoelzeman (501) 977-4585 or email (, that way we'll have plenty of places to go for everybody, whether they know of a place to fish or not.

Softball Challenge:

ATTENTION SOFTBALL PLAYERS: We have scheduled the Morrilton vs. St. Vincent K of C softball game for Sunday, June 23 at St. Vincent. Save the date and plan to come enjoy the fun, whether you play or just want to watch. It's a great time. If you'd like to play, please text or call Mark Hoelzeman at (501) 977-4585.
